A Financial Technology Sandbox (W.S. §§ 40-29-101 through 40-29-109) is now available in Wyoming. The Wyoming Secretary of State and the Wyoming Banking Commissioner have the authority to waive specific statutes or rules to allow for the testing of innovative financial products or services through this program for up to twenty-four (24) months, with the possibility of a one (1) year extension. The Sandbox is limited to Wyoming companies and Wyoming investors only. Applicants are required to obtain a consumer protection bond and undergo a criminal background check. About Our Office

We have a long history of serving the public. Beginning in April 1869 with the appointment of the first Secretary of the Territory of Wyoming, Edward M. Lee, by United States President Ulysses S. Grant, this office has always served the public from the State Capitol Building. However, following the completion of the Capitol Renovation Project in 2019, the Office is now located at Herschler Building East, Suites 100 and 101.
