I Need An Apostille or Signature Authorization


The Wyoming Secretary of State's Office has adopted, and been approved to use, a "Universal Certificate" for the authentication of documents to be used in non-Hague Convention member countries. This form will be used for both apostilles and authentications regardless of the receiving country.


Wyoming's Universal Certificate has been filed with the United States' State Department, Office of Authentications for use effective September 10, 2021. Direct any questions to this Office to apostilles@wyo.gov or 307.777.7370.

About Our Office

We have a long history of serving the public. Beginning in April 1869 with the appointment of the first Secretary of the Territory of Wyoming, Edward M. Lee, by United States President Ulysses S. Grant, this office has always served the public from the State Capitol Building. However, following the completion of the Capitol Renovation Project in 2019, the Office is now located at Herschler Building East, Suites 100 and 101.
